Google Chrome 4 Beta
Just installed the Chrome 4 Beta and I like it. It's a bit faster than version 3. There is also an AdBlock extension to reduce the ads on websites. Just check out the beta, it's almost stable and the performance with JavaScript is amazing. I also tried the new bookmark synchronization feature to synchronize between my PC and my notebook. It's easy to setup - just specify your Google account information - and the synchronization process is fast.

Skiing in Zauchensee
This weekend I was skiing in Zauchensee. We - 2 friends of mine - had great weather and great fun. It was cold, about -5 to -10 degree Celsius, but the sun was shiny all day long. Just look at some pictures. Maybe we can do such a trip again.
Dream.Build.Play 2010
I joined this year's Dream.Build.Play contest. There are two contests this year, but if you design your game in a general way, you can submit it to both contests. The two categories this year are the standard DBP contest and a contest for a branded game. I decided to build my game for both categories. So I adopted my current project to support the brand "Old Spice".
Enough of general information, let's focus on my project. My project is called Spiced Journey. It's an point-and-click adventure for Xbox 360 built on my TinyAdventure Tool and XNA. The story is about a secret located on two locations defined in the contest rules. The game focuses on jokes and funny ideas. I'll provide more information later with screen shots and a brief look on the story. The only thing I want to say for now is, that my test players had to laugh very much, when they read the story script.
So just keep reading and receive more information about the project.
Switching to English!
For some reasons I will continue blogging in English. Hope you will follow in future. This is the first step to provide more technical information to the rest of the world.

Google Wave – Fazit 1
Nach einer sehr interessanten Testphase von Google Wave schreibe ich ein kleines Fazit.
Google Wave ist sehr interessant, da es eine andere Art der Kommunikation darstellt. Die Echtzeitanzeige von Nachrichten macht einen Wave sehr dynamisch, da man sich bereits eine Antwort überlegen kann, wenn man sieht wohin die Kommunikation verläuft.
Die Möglichkeit Antworten auf einen bestimmten Post zu schreiben ist zwar nett, allerdings macht es die Lesefolge sehr umständlich, wenn mehrere Personen gleichzeit in einem Wave schreiben, da Gedanken nicht am Ende weitergeführt werden, sondern irgendwo im Wave. Dabei kann es jedoch vorkommen, dass man sich auf andere Posts bezieht, die möglicherweise weiterhinten folgen.
Der Vorteil ist, dass man die Konversation Schritt für Schritt anzeigen kann und somit auch im Falle eines nachträglichen Lesens, die Kommunikation nachvollziehen kann.
Google Wave ist bereits sehr stabil, allerdings funktioniert die Anzeige des Onlinestatus anderer Personen nicht immer bzw. ist instabil. Die gelegentlichen Verbindungsabbrüche stören noch etwas in Live-Konversationen. Diese Abbrüche wurden aber in den letzten Wochen weniger.
Leider ist die Funktionalität von Wave auf meinem iPhone noch sehr eingeschränkt. Google Wave erkennt den Browser nicht richtig bzw. ist sehr langsam (auch über WLAN). Die gezeigte Performance aus den Video kann ich nicht erzielen. Hoffentlich kommt die Funktionalität bald, da ein Mobile Wave sehr viel Spaß machen würde.
Ein Fazit und ein paar Beispiele zur Entwicklung mit der Google Wave API kommt in den nächsten Wochen, da ich erst sehr kurz meinen Entwicklerzugang besitze und gerade dabei bin ein kleines Projekt umzusetzen.
