I’ve been studying algorithms the whole weekend to be prepared for my upcoming interviews (starting tomorrow with Amazon). I was quite shocked that I didn’t hear about very simple things at university, there was a massive lack of information, but through hard studying and a smoking brain, I almost solved this problem. I enjoyed trying all the algorithms and test what complexity theory says about runtime behavior.

I really hope that I prepared the right things in my algorithms tables and did relevant examples (thanks to Google you can find many interview questions on the web). I’ll provide information about my interviews later and some information about my application status.

So stay tuned.

As I graduate from university in July 2010, I’m writing application to my favorite companies. Currently I applied for Microsoft jobs (especially Windows Azure, Codename ‘Dallas’), at Google and Amazon. My application for the graduate program at Lionhead was not successful, but the application process showed me what is expected. I really liked the fact that Lionhead gives feedback – thanks to Helen – and tells you what went wrong…

But there are somethings I really cannot understand, especially when looking at the graduate recruiting at Microsoft Ireland. I got into stage 2 and information about stage 3 (telephone interview, coding tests) but they never told me that I’m either successful or not. After today short internet overview (some tweets, blogs and so on) I realized that I’m following the MSIrish recruiting tweet and found that tweet:

Miss the deadline for our Technical Graduate Programme? We’re accepting additional applicants now at gradjobs@microsoft.com1:53 AM Apr 26th via TweetDeck

It’s interesting to see such things and even not to get any feedback on your application. I can deal with it, so I’ve got a Microsoft Surface project till I know something about my current applications. More about that later, when I have some information.

Stay tuned.

Just installed the Chrome 4 Beta and I like it. It’s a bit faster than version 3. There is also an AdBlock extension to reduce the ads on websites. Just check out the beta, it’s almost stable and the performance with JavaScript is amazing. I also tried the new bookmark synchronization feature to synchronize between my PC and my notebook. It’s easy to setup – just specify your Google account information – and the synchronization process is fast.
